Mitzi Mitchell

Mitzi of Hebron, Kentucky passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025. She was 17 years old. 

Mitzi was born around the end of August of 2007. She was soon taken in by the Scott County Humane Society in Georgetown, KY. Having seen her photo and profile on the Society’s website, Mr. Mitchell adopted her in February 2008 and brought her home to Hebron. She quickly settled into the Mitchell household and made friends with his other cat, Sneakers. Mitzi and Sneakers would often play and chase each other around the house. Mitzi loved to play, sleep, eat, and just be near her new family. Although strictly an indoor cat, Mr. Mitchell would often open the windows or patio door, and both cats would enjoy looking out or just laying there for hours. She also enjoyed laying in the sun as it shone through the windows. After Sneakers passed in 2020, she was a comfort to her pet dad and would often spend time by his side. When Mr. Mitchell adopted another cat (Jellybean) in 2021, Mitzi welcomed her into the family. Mitzi was a gentle, sweet, and friendly companion. She had a unique voice with several different inflections. In her last few months, she spent a lot of time on Mr. Mitchell’s lap, on his shoulder, or close by his side. He will always remember and value the companionship of this remarkable cat, affectionately referred to as “my little princess.” She is survived by her adoptive parent, Tim Mitchell, and a step-sister, Jellybean, and many others who met and loved her throughout the years.
